GCredit in GCash is your personal credit line. It’s powered by CIMB Bank which is one of the leading digital banks in the Philippines today.

In today’s world where it’s hard to borrow money from banks, GCredit makes the process easy and straightforward.

With GCredit, you can get these following features:

  • Credit Limit of up to ₱30,000
  • 3% Interest Rates

How Much GScore Do You Need to Unlock GCredit?

GCash doesn’t provide a specific score that you need to unlock GCredit.

They only say that you need to keep using the app to increase your credit score.

But based on our experience and observation with other users, we unlocked GCredit at around 600 credit score.

This seems to be the case with other users as well.

But the only sure-fire way to be able to unlock GCredit is to use GCash services more such as:

  • Cash in

  • Pay Bills
  • Invest
  • Save
  • And more

This may not be a sure-fire method but it’s still worth the effort.

GCash GScore

GScore is the trust rating GCash computes based on your activities on your account. The way this works is that you can only use GCredit after reaching a certain score.

You can check your score GScore today by tapping the menu tab > GScore. If you can tap the “Manage Credit” it means that you’ve already unlocked GCash but you still need to apply to use it.

Lastly, the higher your GScore is, the higher your credit line will be and the lower the interest would be as well. Plus, you can get exclusive perks and benefits! So, just how can you increase your GScore? Here are the things you can do:

  • Use GCredit always
  • Pay your dues on time
  • Use these features: Cash In, Pay QR, Pay Bills, Invest, Save and more!
  • Update your GCash app

GCredit Limits

As far as we know, GCash says on their website that they can offer up to ₱30,000 credit limit with interest rates as low as 3%.

This is if your GScore is high and you don’t have any unpaid dues.

But normally, GCash offers ₱10,000 credit limit with 5% interest rates to average users who’ve just unlocked GCredit. But if you pay earlier, you can get lower interest rates.

For instance, you borrowed ₱10,000 today and you’ll pay it in 5 days.

If the interest rate is 5%, then the total amount you’ll just pay back is ₱10,066.67. The interest rate that’s been applied here is only 0.00667.

But if you pay the loan back in 30 days, the total amount is ₱10,500.

If you want to compute your interest, here’s the formula: Amount Borrowed X Interest Rate X # Of Days Borrowed/30 Days.
