GCredit in GCash is your personal credit line. It’s powered by CIMB Bank which is one of the leading digital banks in the Philippines today.
In today’s world where it’s hard to borrow money from banks, GCredit makes the process easy and straightforward.
With GCredit, you can get these following features:
- Credit Limit of up to ₱30,000
- 3% Interest Rates
- Easy application
- Pay to 17,500 merchants and billers
- The earlier you pay, the lower the interest rate
- Hassle-free repayment
- After repayment, you can borrow money again!
As you can see, if you already have a fully verified GCash account, you can easily apply for GCredit. But before that, you need to have a certain GScore.
How to Activate GCredit (Step-by-step Guide)
To apply for GCredit, the process is easy and simple.
First, you need to have a fully verified GCash account and you’ve reached a certain GScore.
If you can access the Manage Credit tab, you can already apply for it.
Here are the steps:
Step 1: Open GCash and tap “Show More”.
Step 2: Scroll down and under Financial Services, select “Manage Credit”.
Step 3: Then, GCash will ask you to confirm the email address and tap Next.
Step 4: Next, you’ll review the personal information you gave when you registered for GCash. Hit Next.
Step 5: Here, you need to input your other personal details. After that, tap Next.
Step 6: Lastly, you’ll review every information you’ve submitted and you’ll need to check the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Consent Boxes. After that, tap “Submit”.

However, there’s a new feature in GCash called GCash Loans where you can borrow money which you can use as cash!

How Much GScore Do You Need to Unlock GCredit?
GCash doesn’t provide a specific score that you need to unlock GCredit.
They only say that you need to keep using the app to increase your credit score.

This seems to be the case with other users as well.
But the only sure-fire way to be able to unlock GCredit is to use GCash services more such as:
- Cash in
- Pay QR
- Pay Bills
- And more
But you can also try submitting a ticket in the GCash help center to get help on how you can unlock GCredit.

This may not be a sure-fire method but it’s still worth the effort.
How to Increase GCredit in GCash?
GScore is the trust rating GCash computes based on your activities on your account. The way this works is that you can only use GCredit after reaching a certain score.
You can check your score GScore today by tapping the menu tab > GScore. If you can tap the “Manage Credit” it means that you’ve already unlocked GCash but you still need to apply to use it.
Lastly, the higher your GScore is, the higher your credit line will be and the lower the interest would be as well. Plus, you can get exclusive perks and benefits! So, just how can you increase your GScore? Here are the things you can do:
- Use GCredit always
- Pay your dues on time
- Use these features: Cash In, Pay QR, Pay Bills, Invest, Save and more!
- Update your GCash app
As far as we know, GCash says on their website that they can offer up to ₱30,000 credit limit with interest rates as low as 3%.
This is if your GScore is high and you don’t have any unpaid dues.
But normally, GCash offers ₱10,000 credit limit with 5% interest rates to average users who’ve just unlocked GCredit. But if you pay earlier, you can get lower interest rates.
For instance, you borrowed ₱10,000 today and you’ll pay it in 5 days.
If the interest rate is 5%, then the total amount you’ll just pay back is ₱10,066.67. The interest rate that’s been applied here is only 0.00667.
But if you pay the loan back in 30 days, the total amount is ₱10,500.
If you want to compute your interest, here’s the formula: Amount Borrowed X Interest Rate X # Of Days Borrowed/30 Days.
