If you have a GCash account, you can already apply for a loan today.

Whether it’s for an item you want to buy or an emergency, you can loan quickly using the app.

Here’s a guide on how to apply, interest rates, and FAQs.

4 Ways to Borrow Money on GCash

GCash is the most popular mobile e-wallet in the Philippines today. It started in 2004 when there wasn’t even an app then. It offers many features, from load purchases to game credits to even loans.

There’s more than one loan feature in GCash that you can use now. In this section, you’ll learn all about them, their uses, and what separates them from each other.

GLoan

GLoan

GLoan is the newest loan offering in GCash. It’s a loan feature where you can get anywhere from ₱5,000 to ₱25,000 in cash.

You’ll also be able to choose your payment terms from 9 to 12 months. In short, it’s a short-term loan like what others offer in Tala and other loan-lending apps.

To qualify for this loan feature, you’ll only need to get the required GScore. GCash hasn’t disclosed the exact score needed as with the other loan features to qualify for this.

It’s still being rolled out to many users nationwide as it’s the newest loan product from GCash.

GCredit

GCredit

GCredit is the first loan offering that the app rolled out. It’s used to pay bills in the app and to pay in many merchants and businesses nationwide.

The most significant difference between GCredit from other GCash loan products is that it won’t give you cash. This is perfect as you can get up to ₱30,000 credit line, perfect for emergencies.

To qualify for this loan feature, you’ll need to get a certain GScore through GCash doesn’t specify the score.

GGives

GGives

GGives is a new loan offering in GCash which lets users pay in installments. You can pay in GCash partner merchants offline through Pay QR.

GCash pre-approves users to this feature based on their GScore, so there aren’t any additional requirements.

You can then use it to buy goods from partner merchants nationwide, from pharmacies to supermarkets to retail stores and even restaurants.

With GGives, you can pay in flexible terms such as 3, 6, and 12 months.

CIMB Loan

CIMB Loan

GCash has partnered with CIMB, a digital bank in the Philippines. If you already have a CIMB account, then as a bonus, you can apply for a personal loan from the CIMB app.

We included this in the list since most GCash users with a GSave account also have a CIMB account.

Unlike the other loan offerings above, this one is a personal loan with more requirements.

Through CIMB, you may apply for a minimum of ₱30,000 to ₱1,000,000. But the requirements are strict as you need to have a minimum gross monthly income of ₱15,000, among other things.

Fees, Requirements, Uses

Now that you know the different loans you can apply to with GCash, we’ve put them together in a table. Here, you’ll be able to see the different fees, requirements quickly, and uses:

Other Apps that offer loans/Installments

Aside from GCash, other apps offer loans. But you need to note that these are a mix of loans that you can withdraw and those you can use to shop online.

So, for your convenience, here are they:

Diskartech

Diskartech is one of the newest digital banking apps in the Philippines. They’re also offering loans. But the difference is that they’re offering different types of loans that you can apply for:

  • Auto loan
  • Doctor’s loan
  • Motorcycle loan
  • Housing loan
  • Agri loan
  • Negosyo loan

Unlike GCash, Diskartech offers more total loans for different purposes. Depending on the loan type, you can get anywhere from ₱10,000 up to ₱5,000,000.

You can also select the desired loan term from 6 to 60 months. But since you can apply for a significant amount here, they’re also strict with their process.

ING is another digital bank that you can use to borrow money. To apply, you’ll need to create and verify your ING account.

Then, you’ll need to have a minimum monthly salary of ₱20,000. You’ll also provide your TIN, payroll for the last three months, and BIR form 2316.

You can then borrow money of ₱30,000 up to ₱250,000.

Tonik

Tonik is another digital bank that’s one of the newer ones. You can loan ₱5,000 up to ₱50,000 here.

You only need one valid ID and a 1-month payslip. You can then enjoy flexible payment terms of 6 up to 24 months.

Unlike ING, Tonik doesn’t require you to have a credit history and a thorough background check.

Shopee

If you want to shop now and pay later, Shopee has a feature called SPayLater.

With this feature, you can apply for an installment and enjoy low-interest rates of 1-5% per month on total order. You can also choose your payment terms.

Lastly, you can get up to ₱50,000 credit limit depending on your Shopee purchase history.

Lazada

Lazada also has LazPayLater, which offers similar features to SPayLater. You can use this service to pay for items in installments. You can also get a credit limit depending on your Lazada purchase.
